Academics Against Pandemic

   

     As the spread of the Corona virus continues, so does students continue to shift away from classrooms. The pandemic has caused the shut of schools all over the world. Naturally, governments would find a way to make education possible amidst the pandemic because education is essential for a country's growth and development. Since face to face learning is not possible due to it' s adverse risks, the government is obliged to think of effective alternatives to education. Remote learning alternative can potentially reduce the hostile effects of this pandemic on students education.

     This pandemic forces educational institutions to be more adaptive and creative when it comes to providing education to students. Online learning is utilized by richer countries while countries who are middle-income or poorer make use of other distance learning alternatives. New methods of teaching and new accessible platforms are imposed to make education more accessible while retaining the quality of it. Education’s new normal is more than just creating a safe environment for the students and teachers but is also about being efficient in the use of technology. Educational institutions should find the most suitable platform for students to use. Educational needs should be addressed with regards to the students community and available funds.  This new normal way of education involves proper utilization of available technology, producing materials, and proper training of teachers. Proper aid must be provided to teachers and students in order to achieve the continuation of quality education.

    Online and modular learning may be the best resort to gain quality education but it is not cheap. Students who avail distance learning will need gadgets such as tablets, laptops, phones, and a reliable internet provider. May it be online learning or modular learning, students would still find the need of these gadgets specially for activities that require research on the internet. This makes quality education favorable only to those privileged when education should be for everyone.

   

     The goal of all education systems is to overcome and respond the current learning crisis we are facing caused by the Covid-19. Students and teachers must cooperate amidst this pandemic in achieving quality education with enough responsibility and urgency to act and adopt with the situation on hand. With proper action, everyone would have equal chances to attain education and with an inexistent gap on opportunities.
