  Dedication is something that only a few individuals possess. It is vital is achieving a goal. In our our case, it is a key that unlocked our chains years ago. Being slaves by other nations in our own land is devastating. Luckily, there are heroes who had overflowing dedication and patriotism who did not lose hope on aiming for our freedom. The freedom that we are all indulging to in this moment is hard earned. Appreciation   and recognition is the least we can do to show gratefulness to those brave heroes. In any situation, we should all find time to remember and appreciate their sacrifices. Dreadful nights and sorrowful mornings is what our country experienced under captivation. “Happy mother's day!” A greeting that would never be enough to express how thankful and happy I am for my mother. It is unbelievable that a single person can give so much love. Mother's are precious gifts from God. They are packed with love, forgiveness, and understanding. They are strongest for they give life, nurture, and upbring their children to their best potential. No love is as great as a mother's love. As an appreciation of this greatness, mother's day is celebrated by the whole world.   A celebration on the 2 nd Sunday of May honoring mothers is a celebration that no one should miss. On this special day, showing love and appreciation towards mothers must be everyone’s priority. There are 365 days in a year in which mothers never miss a single day to care and love their children compared to a single day to thank them for it. A Celebration of Safety

    Years ago, and epidemic killed hundreds of people which pushed the locals of Vigan to carry out a novena which lasted for nine days. Miraculously, as days passed, the number deaths decreased and on the last day there was none. This sprouted Binatbatan Festival of the arts. The Feast of the Natives, now known as Binatbatan Festival of the arts, began on May 3 , 1883 and is now celebrated every last week of April until the first week of May.   Former Mayor Eva S. Medina continued a campaign with a goal of promoting Vigan's culture which gave birth to Viva Vigan Festival of the Arts in 11995. Then in the year 2002, abel-iloco hand-loom weaving was celebrated through the introduction of Binatbatan Festival. Binatbatan Festival is celebrated to acknowledge and honor one of the industries that kept locals alive.
