      Since the dawn of civilization, women has been shaping human history. Women have made sognificant contributions to every discipline and area of life.  Our culture and the progression of literature, photography, music, math, science, research, and so much more has been influence by women for many years. The originality, beauty, endurance, imagination, and multiple dimensions of women's lives have shaped our collective history, thus, making our world progressive in many aspects. This calls for the need to not only celebrate women but to also recognize their achievements and their true compassion in creating change.


       In the Philippines, the celebration of women's month is utilized as a venue to recognize the achievements and to assess the needs of women in gender equality issues and empowerment. Unlike the past celebrations of Women's month, this year's celebration is a different due to the on going pandemic that has brought worldwide crisis. Although there is an on going pandemic, measures to ensure the safety and well being of women were still prioritized in our country not only in the month of march but all year round. 


        Discrimination in gender has been an issue present for years which torments women and deprives them of their rights. The annual celebration is a way to address and resolve issues such as discrimination in order to ensure women's wellfare. Women are undeniably important in the community for they are deemed to be strong and intelligent individuals and they help maintain the balance in a community.



      Gender equality and women empowerment is a major key in sustaining a community that leans towards success and progress. Nurturing women would result in a well nurtured community for women will surely give back the positivity and compassion projected towards them. Together we must make change work for women.
